Characteristically uniform white coat colour with black points; small head and horns; well developed and upright hump that sometimes fold to one side; medium dewlap and sheath.
Mainly found in parts of Jubaland (Alto Giuba) along the border with Ethiopia. Also found along the Kenya – Somali border and in the Wajir region of Kenya.
Descended from the first introduction of zebu into Africa from west Asia. The breed evolved after some of the Ethiopian Boran cattle spread across the border to Somalia and inhabited parts of Jubaland (Alto Giuba) along the border with Ethiopia. They are maintained by the Arti and Mohammed Zubier tribes.
